Do you know the difference between Acetoxy and Neutral Cure Silicone Sealant?

Acetoxy Silicone (Acid) is a sealant that releases acetate/ acetic acid during the curing process. This sealant generally known as a strong smell like vinegar.

While Cure Neutral Silicone is a substance that releases alcohol or is not acidic during the curing process. This sealant does not smell.

So what is the difference between Acetoxy and Neutral?

Acetoxy Cure Silicone release acetic acid when curing and can cause problems in certain substrates/ materials. When other stone or natural stone can cause color polarity, shapes on metal or metal can cause bubbles and allow bitumen surface to cause bleeding. So the compilation applies sealants to sensitive surface, it is better to use Silicone Neutral Cure compared to Silicone Acetoxy because Silicone Cure Neutral will not cause a reaction to the material. Acetoxy Silicone is usually easier to use in rooms, bathrooms and parts, this is a cheaper price and a better process than Silicone Neutral Cure. Meanwhile Neutral Cure Silicones have a longer curing process but have better gluing result compared to Acetoxy Silicone and can be used for outdoor areas in building.
